SHAKY SMITHSON

Shaky was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Tony and Lori. Shaky was the second child born behind his brother Tony, but was soon joined by five more siblings, Fish, Tamicka, Briana, Toni, Brittany, and Antonio. At an early age, Shaky became  a role model and protector of his siblings. He always made sure his siblings were taken care of and were getting to school.

Shaky's first sport was baseball, but he quickly started and excelled at track, basketball and football as well. He played Pop Warner football until 10th grade. Then, junior and senior year of high school, he played football for his high school, Fredrick Douglass High School. During high school, Shaky ran track and played baseball, basketball and football. His freshman and junior years, his team was 4A State Champions in basketball. Unfortunately, his team was one point short of a third state title his senior year. Shaky helped change the culture of his high school football program for the better. During Shaky's time playing for the high school football team, the team had the best school record in history of 10-1. Shaky was one of the first inductees into the Frederick Douglass Athletics Hall of Fame. Shaky continued to pursue a career in football through college. When he left for college, he was granted custody of his younger brother, Fish, who Shaky aspired to change his life path for the better.
